We started my removing
everything off the firewall that wasn't going to be reused on
the truck. Then we cut out pieces of sheet metal so that every
hole could be welded up and smoothed out. One the inside we
primered the whole cab with primer and any area's we couldn't
get to we used a rust converter primer to seal everything so we
would have no issues down the road. We also re seam sealed all
of the firewall seams.
We then needed a solid
mounting plate for our throttle pedal and TAC module that Spalding Autoparts sent to us. So we welded one up out of
1/2" tubing and welded nuts on the backside to secure
everything. Once this was welded to the firewall, we seam sealed
it and primered it also. All of the primer and seam sealer was
from Duplicolor.com.
